Genesis

The CSE (Data Science) department was established in response to the global shift toward data centric technologies and the increasing demand for data science professionals. With the digital transformation across industries, Godavari Global University recognized the need to train a new generation of engineers proficient in data interpretation, predictive modeling, and intelligent decision-making. The department was founded as part of the university’s strategic initiative to stay ahead in emerging technologies and to contribute to nation-building by producing competent, industry-ready graduates in the field of data science.

Program Outcomes

After completion of the program, a successful graduate will be able to:

  • Graduates will be able to apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals and principles of Computer Science & Engineering to solve complex problems in different domains.
  • Graduates can identify, formulate, study contemporary domain literature and analyze real life problems and make effective conclusions using the basic principles of science and engineering.
  • Graduates will be in a position to design solutions for Engineering problems requiring in-depth knowledge of Computer Science and design system components and processes as per standards with emphasis on privacy, security, public health and safety.
  • Graduates will be able to conduct experiments, perform analysis and interpret data as per the prevailing research methods and to provide valid conclusions.
  • Graduates will be able to select and apply appropriate techniques and use modern software design and development tools. They will be able to predict and model complex engineering activities with the awareness of the practical limitations.

  • Design, develop and evaluate data science projects by thinking critically in making decisions based on data and deep analytics.
  • Apply the concepts and techniques of database design, and implementation to enhance data collection capabilities and decision-support systems. Ability to analyse the role of information and analytics in supporting business processes and functions.

Head of Department

Dr. Shrija Madhu

Professor & Head of the Computer Applications department

She is currently working as Professor and Head of the CSE (Data Science) department at Godavari Global University, Rajahmundry (AP). Having worked in academia for more than 23 years, Dr. Shrija Madhu has devoted her professional life to instructing and guiding undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of computer science subjects. She did an MCA from M.P. Bhoj University, Bhopal, M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from JNTU, Kakinada, and a Ph.D. from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
Her areas of interest include Image processing, information security, encryption, machine learning, and cloud computing. She has published more than 40 research papers in esteemed journals indexed by Web of Science, SCI, and Scopus, as well as one book and five book chapters. She has made a substantial contribution to the academic community. As an NPTEL SPOC, she assists faculty and students in developing their technical proficiency through the numerous courses offered by NPTEL.

Along with her academic endeavors, Dr. Madhu is involved with a number of organizations such as the International Association of Engineers (IAENG) and the Red Cross Society. She is committed to equipping her students with the values, information, and abilities necessary for success in all facets of life. She promotes holistic, value-based education and personal growth as a committed volunteer with Universal Human Values (UHV).

The Internet of Things (IoT) is a course about the new paradigm of objects interacting with people, with information systems, and with other objects. The course will focus on creative thinking and on hands-on project development.
