Pharmaceutics

Department Profile

Overview

Department of Pharmaceutics has made significant strides since its inception in 2004, expanding its academic offerings and research scope over the years. With a strong team of faculty members and postgraduate programs in Pharmaceutics the department is clearly committed to advancing pharmaceutical sciences.

The curriculum equips students with the knowledge and abilities needed to investigate and create innovative formulations, as well as to delve into the future of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. The curriculum and syllabi are structured according to the guidelines of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

The emphasis on progressive research in areas like targeted drug delivery, nanotechnology, and particulate drug delivery systems highlights its role in driving innovation in formulation sciences. Given its vibrant academic and research environment, the department seems to be an excellent hub for aspiring pharmaceutical scientists and researchers.

The department appears to have a strong foundation in both academic and research excellence. The well-equipped laboratories, sophisticated instrumentation, and a dedicated machine room provide an excellent platform for postgraduate and Ph.D. scholars to conduct high-quality research. The mention of advanced instruments like HPLC, FT-IR, four numbers of UV-Visible spectrophotometers, Lyophilizer, Brookfield Viscometer, Probe Sonicator, and Cold Centrifuge highlights the department’s commitment to innovative pharmaceutical research. Additionally, the availability of Design Expert software and a central computer lab with internet access further enhances the research capabilities of students and scholars. The future to establish a Pilot Plant setup is particularly noteworthy, as it will significantly contribute to bridging the gap between academic research and industrial applications.
